Mangalore: Historic Sanku Poonja - Devu Poonja Jodukare (double track) Kambala would be held on February 22, at the Kambala field opposite Tiruvailu Shri Amrita Someshwara Temple. Floodlight arrangements have been made for the Kambala, since such events normally last overnight. The Kambala will be held in the presence of members of Bondanthila Guttu, Kapettu Guttu, Permanki Guttu, Mooda Padavu Guttu of Vamanjoor Magane, and other dignitaries. Mangalore: During the Malaria Control Action Committee meeting, deputy commissioner to the health officer of Mangalore City Corporation, A B Ibrahim directed to serve notice to building contractors who don’t maintain cleanliness and also to those who don’t provide basic infrastructure to construction workers. He said that the health officials should visit sites and take necessary steps to spray medicine in areas where contaminated water is found. Furthermore, Dr. Arun Kumar, District Malaria Control Officer said the health officials have the responsibility of visiting every house and seeing whether any people are suffering from Malaria or Dengue.  Read More....



Mangalore: Youth wing of Jamaate-e-islami Hind, Dakshina Kannada, visited endosulfan victims in areas like Alankaru, Athoor, Kundaje, Surulikatte, Kemmara, Samethadka, Koila and Kuntoor on Thursday, January 23. Youth wing district president Mohammad Mohsin and state assistant convenor Shabeer Ahmed, accompanied with other members, Siddiq Jakribettu, Irshad Hashmi, Saleem BolangadyMusthafa Athoor and Rawoof Uppinangady visited the affected areas to meet the victims. Endo Horata Samithi Alankaru, president Peer Mohammed, vice president Jayakar and Jaya Karnataka Kamalaksha Rai also took part in meeting and talking to the endo victims. Read More
